PRIVACY
Short version: we ask for a name and a number, we use them to reply to you, we never publish them, and you can have them deleted whenever you like.
Who runs this site
SRNagar.com is run by a small group of residents of Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar, Hyderabad, in their own time. It is not a company, not a government body, and not affiliated with any political organisation.
What we collect
Only what you type into a form. Depending on the form, that is:
- Your name, and the name you would like shown if something is published.
- Your mobile number, so a volunteer can reply to you.
- Whatever you write in the message, story, question or description.
- For Join: your connection to SR Nagar, your locality, your interests and your language preference.
We do not ask for your address, your age, an identity document, your caste, your religion or your income. If a form on a neighbourhood website ever asks you for those, be suspicious of it.
What happens to it
This website does not have a database and does not store anything itself. When you submit a form, the details are validated and passed once to a single intake destination that the SRNagar.com volunteers control, where they are read by a person. Nothing is written to your browser, and nothing is saved into the website's own files.
If no intake destination has been configured, the form tells you plainly that submissions are not open and nothing is sent anywhere.
What is never published
Your phone number. It is not shown on any page, not attached to anything published, and not passed to advertisers, businesses or anyone else. If a published item needs a contact route, we act as the go-between.
The same goes for anything in a submission that identifies someone else. If you send us a neighbour's number, we will not publish it either.
What may be published
The content of a submission, if it is meant for a public page, such as a community board post, a memory, an event or a listing, after a volunteer has read it. It appears under the display name you chose, or as “A resident” if you left that blank. We may edit for length or clarity, and we will tell you if we do.
For memories and photographs, there is more detail on the archive and image rights page.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no advertising or social tracking. Fonts are served from the site itself rather than from a font provider, so loading a page does not tell anyone else that you visited.
If privacy-respecting visitor analytics are switched on, they count page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. When analytics are not configured, no analytics script is loaded at all.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention.
Children
Nothing on this site is aimed at children, and we ask people under 18 not to send us a phone number without a parent's knowledge. Where a form is likely to be used by a young person, volunteering at the Utsav for instance, it asks.
Having your details deleted
Write to us and ask. We will delete your name, number and anything else you sent, and we will not ask you why. If something of yours has been published, tell us and we will take it down.
Changes to this page
If this page changes in a way that matters, we will say so here rather than quietly swapping the wording.
