CORRECTIONS

A community archive is only as good as its willingness to be corrected. If something here is wrong, we would rather hear it than be wrong for years.

How we handle corrections

Corrections are dealt with before new writing. Someone will read yours, check it, and reply, even if the answer turns out to be that the page was right.

We say when we change something

If a page changes because of a correction, we note it on the page. Quietly editing the record is how archives lose their credibility.

Your name on this site

If you are named on a page and would rather not be, as a founding member, in a photograph or anywhere else, say so here or on the contact page. We will remove it without asking you to justify it.

“I was there” is evidence

You do not need a document. A first-hand account, especially one that contradicts what we have printed, is exactly what this archive is being built from.
